Bill Kostelec
Bill Kostelec learned to develop film from his Dad and a beginners Kodak kit. Self taught as a photographer, he has been the photo teacher at Gonzaga University since 1993. If a man were to be identified and labeled by his use of cameras, Bill should probably have been dead by now, still shooting however with a 4X5 Graflex D, 1949 Crown Graphic, 1934 Leica III, 1930’s Eastman 2D 8X10 and a relatively “new” Leica M3 from 1962.

Kathy Kostelec
Kathy Kostelec has photographed in the deserts of Utah and in the glacial fjords of Alaska, but enjoys every bit as much shooting in her own back yard – in the hauntingly beautiful Columbia River George and scablands of Eastern Washington, or on the streets of downtown Spokane.

My work is a project that examines the hinterland within the state of Washington. The word hinterland (late 19th cent.: from German, from hinter ‘behind’ + Land ‘land.’) means an area surrounding a town and served by it; the remote areas of a region; an area lying beyond what is visible or known. The landscapes I am drawn to are, by their nature, worn, generally containing abandoned or deteriorating forms. They are the landscapes I drive through on a regular basis, ping-ponging between rural and urban areas.

Tony Roche
After a successful career in high tech marketing I decided to pursue my passion in photography. I have enjoyed photography as a hobby for over 30 years and recently completed the 2-year photography program at SFCC, further preparing me to do commercial and portrait photography. I consider myself a life-long student of photography.
My photography reflects my interest in discovering, capturing, creating and producing photographic art. I photograph extensively in the Northwestern States. I enjoy printing my images as much as capturing them and take great care in producing a quality print.
In addition to creating fine art scenic and landscape imagery, I do assignment work in commercial and architectural photography, editorial, as well as location portraiture.
